I was not happy with the B&Bs in Ireland. Basically it’s like staying at your grandma’s house. It’s not the B&B’s here in the states, which are more like boutique hotels. They get really angry if you show up late – we were late checking in because we were stuck in traffic because of a football game and they gave our reserved room away! No problems when we stayed at a hotel.
Find an inexpensive hotel:

I recommend finding something next to Temple Bar, it’s the entertainment center in Dublin, loads of fun places to go to.

Anyone know of a good hotel or bed and breakfast that is right in the city centre of Manchester? We are looking to go towards the end of February for two nights, Friday to Saturday and want to pay no more than 35 – 40 quid a night. Any advice much appreciated!
book early on the travelodge website, and you will get a room for £29 – £39
click the link, then the search £19 room button, then enter manchester in the search box. When the results come up , click on manchester central

anyone help?
I would look in the Portobello area of Edinburgh if you want a nice bed and breakfast that is good value, it is right next to the beach and takes half an hour on the bus to get to the city centre, in moderate traffic, and its often faster (Day tickets on the bus are £3 and there are nightbuses as well, but you need to buy a different ticket for these)
