Are there any bed and breakfast (casa particular) in Camaguey in Cuba? How to find them once there?

February 152010

I would like to know who is giving the thumbs down here…

The tourist guide book do normally mention casas – but that information can get out of date quickly.

There are probably people hanging around the bus station and the main tourist areas who will offer to take you to a casa. (They will be doing this for a fee, so may not be impartial.)

If you have enough time, just wander around looking for the casa particular sign.

There are a couple listed here – http://www.cubajunky.com/camaguey/camaguey-casa-particulares-home.htm

bed & breakfasts…?

February 102010

my friend is thinking of buying a bed & breakfast. i was wondering if you have ever stayed at one and whether or not you liked it. what you liked about it, what you didn’t like about it. please give details.

i have stayed at a few. i like the more comfortable surroundings, the homey feel and generally the owners are nice and helpful.

sometimes you have to share bathrooms with other guests and i could do without that. also having to interact with others when i might not feel like it is a pain. some b&b’s are without modern things like TV or telephone in your room. i prefer to have those available.

if you like to entertain people all the time, then it could be a nice business.

Can anyone tell me of any reasonable priced bed and breakfasts in Los Angeles and San Francisco? Im travelling?

January 172010

there in October for just over 2 weeks and don’t want to be spending the majority of my money on accommodation! Thanks

No such thing. Lodging and meals will take up the majority of your travel budget. (That’s why we LOVE to go to the River Palms in Laughlin, since they comp us rooms, and all we do is play penny slots).

LA isn’t really known for B&B’s. The best ones are actually outside the city. Check out foursisters.com for some very nice ones. I can personally recommend Gosby House in Pacific Grove, and Blue Lantern in Dana Point.

If you really want to go on the cheap, try usahostels.com. It’s a "bed and breakfast" of sorts. You can get a bed, and they offer "all you can MAKE" pancakes and oatmeal.

Happy traveling!

Can a 17 year old travel around on his own and saty in bed and breakfasts In UK?

January 142010

I was wondering, I’m 17 and I live in England, and would like to take a trip on my own to Blackpool in the summer, probably staying in a couple of bed and breakfasts. Would this be allowed, would bed and breakfasts allows under 18s to pay to stay? Also, any Idea how much a train would cost from Crewe, in Cheshire to Blackpool. And on average how much would a bed and breakfast cost roughly per nite? Thanks a lot.

Check out your train times and fares here.

I looked for you and it looks like £27 single, (one way) and will take around 1.5 hours

B&B’s check out tripadvisor or http://www.bedandbreakfasts.co.uk/static-blackpool.asp for prices.

I don’t see why you can’t, you can do most things when your 16.

My girlfriend brought me breakfast in bed and it tasted horrid should I not give her a gift for ruining x-mas?

morning for me. It was awful, I had to choke 3 whole spoonfuls of omelet down while she watched me with a happy grin.

You should have just passed gas in the bed and pulled the sheets over her head.

Any reasonable, romantic bed & breakfasts in Savannah, GA?

November 152009

Kind of like the title says…I have an anniversary coming up and I’m looking for a B&B to stay at for just a night. We’re on a budget though, so the cheaper the better. Any ideas are appreciated and please feel free to include as much info as you can (amenities, a personal review, whatever you can offer) ! Thanks in advance. =)

Hello – here’s a listing of bed & breakfasts in Savannah that might fit your budget: http://www.rent-directory.com/cgi-bin/search/go.cgi?id=225727

It looks like there’s a range of prices starting at under $100, which seems pretty reasonable for a nice B & B. You can contact them all through that site to inquire about availability and book your stay. There are also reviews and ratings so you can see how other people liked them.

Hope this helps…have a wonderful trip!

Nice Inns or Bed and Breakfasts in Stowe, VT?

October 282009

My boyfriend and I are looking to spend a weekend in Stowe, Vermont, and would like to stay in a Bed and Breakfast. Can anyone recommend a good B&B in the area? I would like to keep the price about 210 or lower a night, and am currently leaning toward Stowe Meadows.

As a side question– anything that I should check out in the Stowe area when I am there?

The Green Mountain Inn ( http://www.resideo.com/us/vermont/stowe/31266653.hotel ) is very popular, as is the Stowflake Mountain Resort & Spa ( http://www.resideo.com/us/vermont/stowe/17028036.resort ).

Are London Bed & Breakfasts safe for single women?

October 262009

I am travelling to London in mid-July and looking for a reasonably priced accomodation.

Tell you what, I lived in London for 18 months and I must say, being a single woman in old London town and getting about as a backpacker, you are safe as houses matey. If you let me know a little more about you, I could possibly hook you up with some friends in London that will take care of you and show you an absolutely fantastic time. Dan

I will travel to Ireland in August and we will stay in Bed and Breakfasts.?

October 242009

Will I need a converter to use my hair dryer, curling iron, and computer? If so, where do I purchase this item?

You could get them off ebay quite cheaply. You can probably pick them up at the airport but quite pricey. You could try your local hardware store. Here in Ireland you can pick them up for about €2 in what’s casually called a €2 shop!

Btw, you might be staying in B&B’s thinking they are cheaper than hotels but you’d be wrong, you can get some great deals on hotels at http://www.hotelscombined.com Hotels in the major cities from €35 for a room for 2.
