Best place to stay in Baguio for?

February 152010

I’ve red all reviews in tripadvisor about hotels, inns, bed&breakfast but I’m still confused where to stay. I know that camp john hay manor hotel is very nice but its not our budget our budget is 3000 pesos. I prefer a hotel with clean, nice room, clean linens, good food and most specially clean bath/toilets. I know some of the pictures in their websites are deceiving that’s why I need recommendations from those who have experience staying on that hotel. thank you.

Are there any nice hotels that will accept a dog in Gettysburg, PA near the Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg?

February 102010

If not, are there any motels, hotels or bed & breakfast inns near the Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg, where just my husband & I could stay for 2 weeks without "breaking the bank"?

(our cocker spaniel is approx. 45lbs, and is very well-behaved and we would love to take her with us if at all possible.)

Oh we love taking our Husky to Gettysburg. We’ve stayed at the Comfort Inn and Travelodge with her (or her fur). Both we’re nice and there was no problem with her at all. I’d recommend either.

She even went on a Ghost Walk with us through Ghosts of Gettysburg.

Be sure to take your puppy to O’Rorkes if the weather is nice. She can join you for lunch/dinner on the patio.

Anyone stayed at the Wildwood 1884 Bed and Breakfast Inn?

no but good question.

There was a beef recipe that cam from some bed and breakfast or inn in the eastern mountains that recommended?

January 222010

that you let the beef sit out on the counter overnight (it wasn’t ground beef, it was solid piece) …then it went in the oven the next night, it had a cream sauce that I think had wine in it…I cannot find it to save my life does anyone know a version of this recipe??

It could be so many things. Lots of sauces have wine in them.

Bordelaise-style sauce
Beef Wellington and Madeira Wine Sauce

Hold on a sec. I have an old cookbook named "Cooking with Wine" from 1963. I’m looking through it now. It may provide a clue.

Edit: Nope. Not much help here. I’ve got Beef Round in Sour Cream Gravy. A Burgundy wine & sour cream make the sauce.

Swiss Steak also will have a wine sauce.

bed&breakfast or an Inn in USA?

November 152009

Hello, I´m spanish girl and I´m going to move to USA next year, and I would like to start up a b&b or inn in USA but I don´t know where could be a good place for a business like this, If you could told me….
Another question is if you think that is a good idea or there is a lot of b&b and I could have complicated to have costumers!

Tourist places (mostly places by the beach) are filled with these kind of places. College towns might be a good place to start, usually when parents are moving in their kids or coming to visit, they are only there a night or two and it’s more cozy to stay at a b&b than a Days inn. Good luck!

What is appropriate when staying at a bed & breakfast?

November 102009

Going to a really nice B&B for one night. It is highly rated & the inn keepers have already been super friendly & helpful while booking. Is it customary to tip them when leaving? What is a customary tip? When do you tip them?

Tip them 25% when you pay your bill.

Need recomendations for Virginia/Maryland area Country Inns and Bed and Breakfasts.?

November 72009

Need recomendations for Virginia/Maryland area Country Inns and Bed and Breakfasts.
I’m open to any suggestions the area should have some local culture, like small museums or galleries, maybe some play theaters etc. I choose Virginia/Maryland, I’m really looking for 4-5 hour South/Southeast drive from New York City.
If the inn has a web site, that would be very helpful!

You say you only want to be about 4-5 hours south from New York….then you’ll be looking into Northern Maryland. Traffic any further below Baltimore will remind you of New York. You’ll be doing about 10 miles an hour or so. I live in West Baltimore County and drive to New York often.

Let me recommend the following:

http://www.gramercymansion.com/
I live near here….BEAUTIFUL!

Now, to be close to all of Baltimore’s Art but just a train ride south to DC/VA, I recommend the following:

http://www.scarborough-fair.com/
Inner Harbor Bed and Breakfast Baltimore
1 E Montgomery St
Baltimore, MD 21230

Where ever you go, I do hope you enjoy yourself and get plenty of R&R!

I’m looking for a bed and breakfast or Inn (with a pool) in the Berkshires for a week – ideas?
