A song written by Ali and Gentleman for the album is Its A Crime on which British rapper Sway collaborates: Sway is one of Britain’s finest. His rap on the track is so good, I was blown away with his lyric and phrasing he is a big talent praised Ali. Coming from a family of UB40 fans Sway was thrilled to be working with Ali: “It was a great honour working with Ali, I’m a big fan of UB40 and so are my parents, my mum couldn’t believe it. The fact that someone of that stature would even consider or acknowledge talent from a younger generation to be worthy of appearing on his album is amazing.”

Soaring melodies and reggae rhythms glide and bounce along throughout the album with themes that include conspiracy theories, politics and love. The moving rendition of Britney Spears Out From Under highlights Campbells world class vocal ability – the first single to be taken from the new album, this beautiful ballad evokes strong emotions and lyrically may help to shed some light on his departure from UB40. Shes A Lady, a cover of Tom Jones Seventies smash, sees a pair-up with dancehall superstar Shaggy, whose raspy Jamaican rhymes entwine with Campbells huge soulful vocals so fluently and with such kick that youre left wondering why the two havent collaborated before.

True reggae lovers will be excited to learn that there is a cover of John Holts 1970 lost dub classic My Heart Is Gone. The haunting original track Nothing Ever Changes (Pierrot) sees the pairing of German reggae star Gentleman with Ali and leaves its mark on the listener with its thought provoking lyric, whilst Visions, another Campbell penned track, sees Danny K and the Soweto Gospel choir join Ali on what is an anthemic and uplifting look at South Africas future.

On 12 June 2009, after 10 days of exciting campaign, 85% of eligible Iranian voters all over the world turned out to vote for their favorite candidate. But the morning after elections the result was not what they voted for. Their votes were stolen, politicians, human right activists and opposition leaders had been arrested over night, foreign media corespondents and international journalists had been expelled and cities were full of riot police and security forces. Despite all these Iranians have come to streets to shout their freedom and ask for their vote. Hundreds have been killed so far and thousands have been arrested. But until now, after 40 days, Iranians inside Iran still continue their protests, and all over the world expat Iranians and other countries’ citizens support them by protesting in front of Iran embassies. This movement is known as “Green Movement” because of using green color by Iranian protestors that was Mousavi’s campaign color.

The song is an old Italian antifascist song. This video is made for all brave Iranians who stay against bullets and despite brutal repression ask for their vote and freedom.

(From wikipedia) The song Bella Ciao was sung by the left anti-fascist resistance movement in Italy, a movement by anarchists, communists, socialists and other anti-fascist partisans. The author of the lyrics is unknown, and the music seems to come from an earlier folk song sung by riceweeders in the Po Valley. Another interpretation has been given following the discovery in 2006 by Fausto Giovannardi of the CD “Klezmer – Yiddish swing music” including the melody “Koilen” played in 1919 by Mishka Ziganoff.

The song has been recorded by various artists in many different languages including Italian, Russian, Bosnian, Kurdish, Croatian, Serbian, Serbo-Croatian, Hungarian, English, Spanish, Finnish, Kabyle, German, Turkish, Japanese, Tagalog, Breton and Chinese.

Welcome to The Cimatori Bed and Breakfast; a hidden gem in the heart of Florence right next to the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio in Florences famous Piazza della Signoria and Dante Alghieris house.

This Romanesque square and S. Martino del Vescovo church was where, in the Middle Age, workers cut the matted ends (the Cime) off the fleeces.
This area was also territory of the wool guild.

Today, you cannot observe the sheerers at work but you can still admire the beautiful frescoes by Antonio del Chierico in the San Martino church.

Art lovers can enjoy all the artistic and monumental sites of past that lie at our doorstep. Fashion lovers can browse round the Italian designer shops nearby. Excellent traditional Tuscan food and wine can be enjoyed a short walk away…

Pilot episode introduces the janitor of the guest house, John Rambo, in a very dramatic way. He is holding a wiper like a rifle or machine gun and a thrilling background music is playing. Camera moves in a way that the wiper actually looked like a rifle at the beginning of the scene. Later it turns out that John Rambo roach Killer is a spin-off from the main character of the movie First Blood. Rambo was an instant hit and played a vital role in the popularity of the series. Producers wanted to remove the character of Rambo after the pilot episode, but its success made them to decide otherwise. One of the producers admitted on TV that after the success of Rambo in pilot episodes, every episode’s main focus was the janitor of the guest house.

This is an animation that I did for my “Found Sound” Animation III project. We had to find a sound file/interview with a musician, artist, or writer, and do an animation around it. I’m a huge fan of the writer, Sarah Vowell, so I did an animation for an audio file I found of her reading one of her stories.

This animation was hand-drawn with marker on a drugstore memo pad. This is one of the final animations that I did in school using actual paper to draw the frames. I sort of cringe now when I see how bad the animation is in this piece, and how far I’ve come since I started using Flash. I post it here in case there are other Sarah fans out there who may find this amusing.
